A Good Friday Experience Told Through Art
APRIL 3, 2026 | 6-9PM | The Beaumont at 759 | Norfolk, VA, USA
Scars is a Good Friday creative outreach event that tells the story of Jesus’ sacrifice and resurrection through the creative arts (visual art, music, spoken word, dance, video, photography, etc). Our heart is to share the message of redemption and grace with our community in a way that is powerful, tangible, and deeply personal. This isn’t just another art show for exposure or profit. It’s a space for artists to create with purpose—to reveal the story of Jesus through creative expression so that even those who don’t know Him can see and experience His love.
We are inviting artists to prayerfully choose and create art visually embodying these themes:
Desperation
Realizing how far we have drifted in distraction and how only the Lord can rectify us away from it, sorrow that our hearts have dulled in affection for the Lord
Repentence
Turning away from distraction or idols, the inner dialogue with the Lord, and the letting go of the familiar
Consecration
Forming a refreshed, sacred lifestyle no longer short-sighted but aware of the eternal, coming back to your first love with Jesus, renewed purpose
eVENT VISION:
FIX MY EYES
We believe art and creativity have the power to communicate the gospel in a personal and relatable way. Our desire is to see people encounter Jesus—maybe for the first time—through what they see, feel, and experience that night.
This year, SCARS invites artists to explore how our attention—what we fix and focus our eyes on—shapes our hearts, our peace, and our relationship with God. We are coming back to our first love.“Your affection goes where your attention goes.”
